Is there a more mournfully beautiful song than this?

Just sitting here listening to a live bootleg of Cohen, and even treading that fine line that could so easily slip into Vegas lounge music - its still the most wonderful song ever.

I know the Buckley cover gets a lot of loving, and for good reason - it *is* a damn fine cover version, spine tinglingly so - but give me Leonards patented Voice Of Treacle anyday. When the choir bursts in for the chorus… just … wow
