Finally got some time to get back to VI, most of what remains is purely cosmetic and to some degree - trivial - though time consuming all the same.

One of the things I’ve never been happy with is the front end, I have a mental block on menu systems for some reason when it comes to implementing something that looks half decent. So, I decided its time to knuckle down and actually get something that looks good and does the rest of the game justice.

It might not look much from the screenshots below, but it looks luscious moving and Geekays soundtrack is the icing on the cake. Now, I’ve just got to get the menu code and highscore bumf in again…

    I really am going absolute bonkers waiting for Vector Infector — it’s truely the coolest game I have EVER played!!!

    Testbuild8thJan works sweet except sometimes says “ERROR in action number 4 of Other Event: Room Start for object __newobject120: Trying to use non-existing surface.” And if I click Ignore like a million times, it eventually lets me play more; If I instead click Abort, the game exits. Perhaps my onboard video is the culprit? I am not a programmer but I hope this helps ya.

    PS- Throw us another (even if menuless) beta at least???

    Its a huge bug with the old version due to the way I grab the entire screen - if there’s a fair bit going on then it b0rks even the most hardy of cards as there’s too much being stored. Completely idiotic mistake to make on my behalf, but you don’t learn without mistakes ;)

    The main hold up as the game is pretty much done is I need to replace all the sound code and with the RR competition and god knows what else going on, I haven’t even got the heart to open it up and fix it. I don’t mind chucking something out in the next week or so of where it stands so far - its better to have something out there I suppose than just sitting on my hard drive gathering dust till I get the will to continue.
