G-Force: Where its at…

Well, its been a long time since I really updated the progress of G-Force. Mainly because there has been so little, its not been worth mentioning.
With hammering through BI3 and life in general taking its toll - I’ve done very little on the game for eons. However, there is good news. The version I have sitting on my hard drive right now is (and has been for a while) pretty much complete. All of the levels are in place, almost all the sounds present and correct, there’s just a few slight things which need doing to it before its in a releasable state.
First up, I need to go and find what fonts I was using as when my old computer bit the dust, of course, the fonts were stashed on there and they’re not on my current hard drive. And it looks really pig ugly with default fonts. Other than that, it needs a tune - which I’ll poke Gordon for I think as I’ve not reinstalled any music stuff to date to do my own.
As far as I’m aware, it should work perfectly on Vista without upsetting anything and hopefully, without jinxing myself yet again - I can get the darn thing out soon. Mrs Bob is away for a few days next week so I should have some peace and quiet to go font hunting and do a last test of the game. So much for a quick fortnight, eh? Its nearly been the best part of a year…

Good news then, and a most interesting nw design too… Oh, and where have the JSWO playing masses gone?
Wow - at last! Looking forward to this Bob
Gnomey, dunno! I think RichJ has the Zub server running most nights but don’t know just how populated that is of late, haven’t been playing myself in a while.
James, I know! I’ll be glad to see the back of it at the end of this - the problem I’ve just discovered from 3 days banging at it is that its taking an age because every time I load it up I end up playing it for ages :s
In the meantime, here’s a vid of the latest build in action. New stuff in there that I’ve just added - screen shake to really make the shots feel like they’ve got some impact, finally some backgrounds I’m happy with and probably some other stuff I can’t remember now I need to write it down
I’m having a bit of trouble getting the main screen to behave at the mo, it seems to work fine in a seperate file but when I copy the code across it all goes to tits. I’m going to give it a few more days to see where I’ve cocked up, if not I’ll have to go with something more bland and unexciting
