George’s Squizzy Griffin and stuff…

Sometimes good things come out of the bad. Scott’s 360 finally met it’s maker (as is their want) after a year and a half of reliable service. On the bright side, it’s led to the RROD room in George’s Squizzy Griffin.
Scott’s currently 8 or 9 rooms in, progress is going to be slow for the next week or so as he’s shy of time to work on the game - but at this rate, it won’t be long before it gets flung over my way for my section of the map. We’re aiming for 25 rooms per segment, so that’s 50 each.
Now, I don’t know how many of you fine readers have played JSW:O but there’s one important thing to note about Scott’s maps. They’re not exactly easy pickings. From the glimpse I’ve had of George so far, it looks like the bloke is carrying the same principles across here. Which is precisely why I love him to bits. Not only is he an absolute master at the platform engine, but a complete cunt of a room designer too without ever resorting to unfair. Unless you count the swing room in stage 2 of Monty’s Xmas Special that is…
In other news, there was an interesting comment left by Carnacki in the G-Force thread on RR with regards to the last “experimental” build. Now I was quite worried when putting it together that I’d perhaps started straying into the “impure” side of things hence keeping the June build as the latest current version and it looks like I’ve had this confirmed.
So when I return to it once the workload has dropped a bit, I’ll stop drifting from the beaten path and just build on what I already had. Which is good news for me as it’s a lot less work involved
Finally, got the first boss modelled, animated (read:rotated) and slung into VI:Reboot (really got to come up with a better name…). Only 4 more to do… :s
