Back once again with the renegade linkmaster, or something to that effect anyway. Once again, a little semi irregular meant to be regular look on stuff that’s taken my interest this past week or so. And, more usefully, finally pushing the “testing” post off the front page…

My Gamers Confession - I don’t normally *do* game related humour (my remakes that never were being a perfect case in point…), it generally leaves me cold. I guess sometimes I’m just not nerd enough for it. However, Simon Parkin’s rather neatly constructed article raised more than a wry smile. Must have caught me on a good day.

Ingrid Pitt on Doctor Who - ok, it’s not game related, but who in their right mind could pass up linking to this? Yes, I’m a Hammer fan. Yes, I’m a Dr Who fan. Enough said. Although in all fairness, Warriors Of The Deep was shit…

Barnett On - over at RPS, a massive pub chat with Mythic’s Paul Barnett. Great read and colour me even more convinced that I really wouldn’t enjoy the GDC. Not that I needed much convincing.

Developing for Xbox Live - the cold hard reality. Great start to a promising sounding series of articles. No bullshit, which is nice.

PAX Indie Competition winners announced - did no-one mention that Schizoid barely has a game though? Very pretty, but not the greatest start to XNA>XBLA titles. I’ve had more fun picking dirt from underneath my nails and I’m just as likely as to be able to get someone to co-op with me doing that…

More love for Crackdown - Everyone loves Crackdown, right? Next to Space Giraffe, it’s still far and away the best next-gen title I’ve played to date and AFAIC, you can never shed too much love on it.

A Game Isn’t A Series Of Interesting Decisions - “A good strategy game may well be a series of interesting decisions – but a good game is something that meets the play needs of its audience. If you want to make games for the new videogames market, you’d better start striving to understand just what those diverse play needs might involve.”

Diary Of A n00b Developer - I’ve been following this on TIGS for a while. Good stuff. Overdue a mention, methinks.

Wii Fit - I love it when Ko gets a hissy on. One of the highlights of this months Rodent for me this. I think he’s wrong but it still makes me laugh like a donkey on crack.

Driv3rgate Returns - Mr Nash and Campbell’s quest for the truth updatorised. I bought Driv3r the day it came out. The missus took it back to the shop a few hours later. When asked why she was returning it, she uttered words I’ll never forget. “It’s shit.” I love my wife, she’s aces.

Thanks for the great comment on my “Developing for XBox Live” article. Chuffed to get a mention on this of all blogs :)

Hopefully the site will remain bullshit free - that’s kind of the point. If you (or anyone else) has any suggestions for articles, drop me a line.

    No worries, it’s a pleasure.

I’ll bung a link in my sidebar after some breakfast!

(and sorry for not replying sooner, I wandered off for a bit)
