Oh, that headline works on *so* many levels, I’m sorry. I’m also sorry that I haven’t had chance to sort out the half mess that is this site at the moment, my wonderful flu has metamorphosed into snot central and is driving me spare. Thanks to everyone who left “get well wishes” though, much appreciated and it’s certainly something I’m planning on doing sooner rather than later.

Just a quick note for Vista users - I had to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 in order to get some (any) sound.

High Voltage have just announced an interesting looking game called Gyrostarr - which from the video looks like a curious mix of Tempest (obviously, this is a good thing) and Kenta Cho’s Torus Trooper (also a very good thing).
Fuck Space
Both Bill and Tim have already amply covered Cactus’ Fuck Space in recent days, and really, given the quality of the games stylings it’d be rude for me to not join the party.
Aside from having one of the best names for a game ever, Fuck Space has some beautifully retro styled graphics with all the space craft and nasties constructed out of pixel blocks - almost LED style, and their chunky simplicity makes them, whilst certainly not unique - but definitely in a league of their own. As if Puzzle Bobble hasn’t been arse raped enough by the shareware community over the years, its now got to suffer the indignity of being wrapped in horrible kiddy-goth clothes with someones idea of ingenious additions to the formula for good measure. Of course, this means Scrubbles is a bag of cynical twee cock.
